Don’t Touch That App

Not if you’re entitled and in a BMW hurry.

We have a mobile phone app in Western Australia that we are supposed to use to clock into business premises as we visit them. Or we can sign a paper register. Lets us be informed of Covid contacts.

Or not, if we are rich, entitled, and stupid. I watched several of these individuals do precisely this today as I did my local shopping. I’d signed in on the phone, as per the law, and was masked, ditto. The shopkeeper was masked. But the bouffant bandits weren’t…thus rather defeating the scientific principle of the thing.

Not the first time that I longed for a dyspeptic constable to step up…let’s hope there will be one on their shopping route and that their names can be written on a different list.

A magistrate’s charge sheet.
