That factory-fresh custom paint finish that defies time. This car first came to my attention – and I featured the first picture of it – last year when I found it in McCallum Park. Here it is again at the 2015 day in Parry Lakes.
I’m gratified to see that the owner has successfully fought off the body shop and spray painters and opted for the eco-friendly, no-solvent, ozone-safe method of refinishing the bonnet of his Holden.
The only fear is that if he ever has an accident and damages the bonnet, getting the exact shade of iron oxide to blend in with the current finish may prove impossible.
